Billing, Insurance, and Appointment Fees
Dr. Ahmed is in-network with Oxford, United Healthcare, and Oscar (via Optum). Patients with other insurance should check with their provider about in-network options or out-of-network benefits.
Dr. Ahmed works on a fee-for-service basis, meaning you pay directly for each session. Our clinic can provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) for patients seeking reimbursement, which can help you file a claim with your insurance for out-of-network treatment.
Appointment Fees (Out-of-Network)
- 60-minute comprehensive initial evaluation $300
- 30-minute medication management follow-up $185 ( For in-depth discussions about treatment, medication changes, or managing more complex issues)
- 20-minute medication management follow-up $150 ( For routine check-ins, straightforward medication adjustments, or addressing specific concerns)
Out-of-Network Reimbursement
- Most commercial insurance plans provide coverage for mental health services, even if the provider is not in-network. If we do not accept your insurance, we will provide you with a detailed bill (called a superbill) and receipt, which you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
- For your convenience, you may choose to use Reimbursify, a third-party service that helps submit superbills to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
- Upload your superbill, and they handle the submission process.

Cancellations and Missed Appointments Policy
- Notice Requirement: Please provide at least 24 business hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows us to offer the time to another patient.
- Late Cancellations and Missed Appointments:
Appointments canceled with less than 24 business hours’ notice, or missed without notice, will incur the 50% session fee.
Note: These fees are not covered by insurance. - Importance of Attendance:
Regular attendance is essential for effective care. A pattern of missed appointments or late cancellations may lead to discontinuation of services.
Transparency with Costs
- If you are not using insurance, healthcare providers are required by law to provide a “Good Faith Estimate” outlining the expected costs of medical services.
- Before your first session, you will receive an estimate for the initial assessment. After the evaluation, we can provide a detailed breakdown of any additional services.
- Billing Dispute Protection: If your final bill is $400 or more above the Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges.
- For more details about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
